Phase 2: Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) and Normalized Tables
Instructions
In this phase of the project you will determine the entities needed to support your project requirements outlined in Phase 1. Your deliverable for this phase will be:
Entity Relationship Diagram (see Figure A-10 on page AC A-10) depicting entities and their underlying relationship. The final ERD will show entities and display their name, their attributes, primary keys, foreign keys, and relationship between entities.
Display a list of tables in 3NF similar to the example on page AC A-20. This is a crucial step in your database design and if not done correctly the subsequent phases will not return the desired outcome. Be sure to submit this on time and incorporate recommended changes.
Copy and paste the class diagram to a Word document that also contains the list of tables in 3NF as described above.

Project Title
Database for medical coverage for households
Project Scope
The project focuses on the medical and health needs of every household within a given region. This entails collecting the personal details of all individuals within the region and linking the collected data to the expected benefits from the covers. Among the details collected in the project include number of family members in the household, the level of income of the household, whether either parents or single parents or guardian responsible of children if there are children. Also, the ages of the family members can be collected within the household. In addition, the livelihood or income generating activity can be investigated in effort to determine the ability of the household to make premiums on time as per the agreement of the insurance contract.
Project Description
The project aims at determining the relationship between the size of the family, the income level and the premiums paid by the households based on the expected benefits. The main purpose of the database project would be to provide sufficient information needed to establish whether the premium paid is viable based on the health coverage benefits received by the household. Also, the project can be used in determining whether the premium paid attracts specific characteristics or features of a given population or not. Among the features include the level of income where a pattern can be established between the predominant level of income among the households and the premium packages offered by the medical coverage provider. Another characteristic that can be used in defining the relationships between the variables include the size of the family and the expected benefits from the packages offered. For instance, a link can be drawn between a premium medical cover package and the size of the family or household. For instance, it would be easier to establish whether households with small children prefer one type of package or prefer a different package.
Possible issues
One of the challenges that may be encountered in this project include difficulty in establishing links between variables and the potential benefit it has on the program. For instance, there may challenge in determining the relevance some of the variables has such as age of the child within a household and the package benefits offered in the medical coverage. Another challenge may be developing multivariate analysis tools within the database as part of enhancing the ability to make sound decisions from the system (Stiady & Bennett, 2018).
