My Strengths My leadership style from What’s Your Leadership Style? Leadership Training From MindTools, said I lean toward a democratic or participative style of leadership. I tend to set the parameters for the work and have the final say on decisions, but I actively involve my team members in the process. This style can build trust between myself and people, as they’ll feel engaged and valued. But it’s not great in a high-pressure situation that requires fast turnaround. From the Interactive Leadership Style Assessment by USC Price it said I am a Transformative Leader, my relentless hunger to gain knowledge means I look far ahead while remaining cognizant of what is going on in the present. This ability to see gives me confidence to take big risks. To gain the confidence and participation of others, I turn up the charm. However, I rarely need to be the center of attention. When the big risk pays off I share success with everyone who made it possible. They state there are 7 traits to this style: 1. Curiosity 2. Communicative 3. Visionary 4. Team First Attitude 5. Simplicity 6. Charismatic 7. Tolerance for Risk. From the VIA Character Strengths Profile my top three strengths were: Kindness: Doing favors and good deeds for others; helping them; taking care of them. Forgiveness: Forgiving those who have done wrong; accepting others short comings; give people a second chance; not being vengeful. Honesty: Speaking the truth but more broadly presenting oneself in a genuine way and acting in a sincere way; being with our pretense; taking responsibility for one’s feelings and actions.
